Facebook is letting Indian users sign up as blood donors.
Facebook is letting users in India sign up as blood donors. The feature will launch from October 1, which is National Blood Donor Day. “India, like many countries, has a shortage of safe blood. There aren’t enough people donating blood to meet the demand of people who need it. In some cases, this shortage leads to patients and their family being responsible for finding donors to replace blood in the blood banks or hospitals,” Facebook said in a blog post. In many of these cases, people post messages on Facebook, asking their friends for blood donation.
Users in India will start getting messages on their News Feed, asking them to sign up as blood donors. The information provided by them here will be set to the “only me” privacy mode by default, meaning their data will not be shared with anyone. You can also edit your profile to sign up for the drive. Since it’s a feature targeted at India, it will be available on Android phones and the mobile web before iPhones.

“In the next few weeks, we’ll also make it easier for people and organisations, such as blood banks and hospitals, to connect with blood donors on Facebook,” the company said. Next time you ask your friends for help with blood donation, Facebook will let you create a “special type of post”, with all the information needed by donors. The same can be reviewed by registered donors and they will be able to contact the requestor directly, through Messenger, WhatsApp and even phone calls. The person who requested the blood will not see any information pertaining to the donor, unless the donor provides consent for the same.

OnePlus 5 spotted with Android 8.0 Oreo on Geekbench, rollout seems imminent.
The OnePlus 5 has been spotted running Android 8.0 Oreo on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing seemingly confirms that OnePlus may have started testing the new version of Android and hints at the imminent launch of the update.
OnePlus teased the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the oneplus 5 last week, suggesting that the update will arrive in December. The Geekbench listing however, suggests that the Oreo update might arrive earlier than that. OnePlus recently rolled out the OxygenOS 4.5.10 for the OnePlus 5 with stability fixes and camera improvements.
The OxygenOS beta based on Android 8.0 Oreo is expected to arrive first for community users at the end of September and will be followed by the final release after fixing known bugs. The beta version of Android Oreo will be tested on last year's OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, and it will be the last major update for these two smartphones. After the rollout of the update, OnePlus is expected to move the beta from OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T to its flagship oneplus 5 smartphone.

Vivo V7 Plus Review
Our Verdict
While we personally
believe that smartphones need to be a complete package, Vivo is still
pursuing its motto “camera and music” quite single mindedly. The new
Vivo V7+ has a good front facing camera and great audio quality, but
considering its price, the company could have done a much better job
with the performance and battery life.
PROS
- Good selfie camera
- Well built
- 18:9 aspect ratio display
CONS
- Average performer
- call reception issues
